Kids | The Classical

If you were a kid in the greater New York metropolitan area in the late 1980s, your favorite baseball player was Dwight Gooden or Darryl Strawberry. There were Keith Hernandez and Don Mattingly, too, I suppose, but in reality those were your only choices, unless you were related to Mike Pagliarulo or something.

If you were on the wrong side of the diamond from Gary Carter you were not a fan, but those are always the guys who play with passion who you can appreciate later in life.  Taken too young.
